Here we look at the link between the foot function and pain. Common biomechanical problems include:-
•    metatarsalgia (pain in the ball of the foot)
•    planter fasciitis
•    Achilles tendonitis
•    Knee & lower back pain
•    Fallen arches
These conditions can benefit from shoe inserts called orthotics.

Nail Reconstruction Available with Wilde-Pedique

We can construct a damaged nail using Wilde-Pedique UV gel. This reconstructed nail/s can last up to 3 months. It is ideal in cases where:-

•    Building a new nail on nail spurs after having nail surgery ~ removal of the total nail
•    Disguising unsightly nails eg fungal infected nails or damaged nails through trauma
•    Replacing lost nails through trauma eg football injury etc

And there is a choice of shades to suit you. Just contact us to book an appointment.

Often managed with routine chiropody techniques, they are sometimes painful enough to require use of local anesthetic prior to treatment. Chronic problems and deformed nails can be permanently altered by removing part or all of the nail and preventing re-growth. This is a cosmetic procedure and involves a local anaesthetic. The technique has over a 90% success rate in preventing future pain.

Diabetes, rheumatoid and high-risk feet
Diabetes and rheumatic conditions affect everyone differently, but in general, the blood and nerve supply to the feet is changed and it affects the body's ability to heal wounds. Foot assessment, treatment and advice is guided according to the severity of the condition in each individual patient. Diabetic & Rheumatoid patients with foot pain or wounds are offered urgent appointments, so please let us know of your condition when booking an appointment.

Older feet
It might not have caught up with you and perhaps it never will, but old age sometimes results in special foot needs. Older people can require a little TLC, extra help looking after their feet, especially nails, hard skin, corns and callus. If there are a few minutes left after the treatment, we will give you a foot massage. You feel like you are walking on air afterwards!
Foot Spa
Susan offers a foot spa appointment if you feel the need to have a nice relaxing & energising foot spa before a chiropody treatment. And you are guaranteed to feel the benefits of the Natural Essential Lavender Oil & Epsom salts helping you to unwind during your chiropody treatment.
Making an appointment
We have extensive opening hours, including weekday appointments and Saturdays until 1pm. We also offer home visits. We ask that you give plenty of notice if you to cancel or change your appointment. A fee will normally be applied if less than 24 hours notice is given.

TESTIMONIALS FOR NAIL SURGERY

When I consulted Simon Taylor at clinic, he diagnosed the nail problem and suggested a partial nail removal which he carried out in a short painless operation. The relief was instant and the healing very speedy and I have had no further problems in the two years since this was carried out.

Margaret

Just to confirm that my toes have been 100% better since the surgery to remove the side of my nails on my big toes and the toe adjacent on my right foot. The pain I have endured over the years on my regular visits to the chiropodist has all but gone. I suffer none of the discomfort I used to when nearing the time of my next visit. At times even bedding used to cause me discomfort. On occasions over the years the nails have become infected where they have dug in to the side of the toes. The procedure itself was totally painless and very quick and I was able to drive immediately. I only wish I had had this procedure 10 years ago!

Jean

I suffered from a really painful ingrowing toenail for years and after having the nail surgery I was totally pain free. I wish I had it done ages ago because the whole procedure was pain free and I was made to feel at ease by the professional  & experienced attitude of the chiropodist.

John

Having my nail surgery was better than I expected. I was scared of how much it might hurt, but it was remarkably pain-free, especially the healing . Susan’s professionalism & care made the whole experience positive.

Janine

After having suffered pain from an in growing toenail for quite a while, my wife advised me to visit a chiropodist. I wished I had done this sooner as the relief after part of the toenail was removed, was immense. I have had no problems from the toe since and if I had any more problems with my other toenails I would not hesitate to go back. Susan did a marvelous job and put me at ease as I was very nervous & sensitive about my feet. My only regret was that I did n’t visit her a lot earlier.

Trevor

If you would like more information about in growing or painful toenails and the procedure we use please do not hesitate to contact us.

TESTIMONIALS FOR BIOMECHANICAL ASSESSMENTS & ORTHOTICS

Simon’s practice was recommended to me by a friend at work; I initially went having suffered from plantar fasciitis for a while.  Once Simon had completed his assessment, he provided me with specially-fitted arch supports, which have helped tremendously – I can now walk as much as I like without the discomfort I used to suffer.  I have also recommended him to friends and colleagues as I have been extremely happy with the service I’ve received.

Orla

Since having my orthotics fiited by Simon I can walk for longer when I am long walks and I don't experience any aches in my feet or legs.

Sarah

I suffered from planter fascitiis for around 6 months and as soon as I had my orthotics fitted by simon the pain dissappeared within 2 days.
