Recommended equipment for your Raw Live Kitchen

Just to get you going you only need:-

Just buy your sprouts from health food stores and supermarkets now sell them. If you feel ready to sprout your own sprouts then do so, but you may find you have enough on your plate excuse the pun, just managing the raw recipes.

When you feel ready you can maybe start looking into purchasing other bits and pieces. Most of the time when it comes to doing more raw food recipes you might find it of help to go to workshops to get the feel for the ingredients & get that inspiration too …especially when it comes to dehydrating. See my website for these workshops.

Blender – Again choose wisely to begin with. My first one only cost me around £40 and it does me a good service. But ultimately when you become more experienced and decide you really are going to go raw – of course you are! Then the it's hard to beat the Vitamix - from the USA.

Dehydrator – The Excalibur is meant to be the best on the market. I bought a Stockli one at first. You can actually make your own dehydrator believe it or not with a cardboard box and using light bulbs – a little more complex that that, but when you know how it's always easier!? You can use the dehydrator for all sorts of things from burgers, onion bread, breads, flax seed crackers, waffles, nut loaves, and lots of other wonderful things that satisfy your palate especially when you are transitioning over to raw food. People are generally amazed when they 1 st encounter a mouthful of delicious dehydrated food for the 1 st time.

Remember the dehydrator only heats up to a certain temperature whereby the enzymes are not destroyed. So the food is still a lot better for you than cooked food.

If you come on any Raw Food Workshops you will learn about dehydrating foods!

Juicer – Again to begin with you might want to get something that is not so expensive. I bought my Matstone juicer ( this is a masticating juicer) from Wholistic Research and I am still using it. I love my Matstone juicer as it's so easy to use and most of all clean! It's middle of the road in terms of expense. And does wheatgrass, juices and I use the blind attachment for soaked nuts and seeds & soaked sun dried tomatoes etc to create a thick sauce or pates for my recipes. Green juices are one of the most healing raw things you can take. And if you can add anything to it and make it into a super juice or smoothie! If you can just begin with this in the morning it's a good start to the day and to better health! Just remember liquids are easier to assimilate than solids

Sprouting devices - I used to use jars and I also spent a lot of money on an electric one only to find a couple of years later that I could use pure hemp Sproutman bags – much easier! Again available from Wholistic Research. These hemp bags come with instructions on how to look after them. But they allow the sprouts to breath and so don't allow for moulds to grow so easily compared to jars etc. I always have 1 or 2 hanging in my kitchen full of live sprouts. You can sprout after soaking, nuts, seeds, grains, pulses and use them in your recipes. These are full of live enzymes!

Measuring Cups - cups or mugs are used in most raw recipes and its far easier to use than anything else.

Nut/seed Mylk bag –  This is a nylon mesh bag which is great for Hemp mylk as any of the seeds husks left in the mylk will make it taste bitter.
